(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 02, 2011 ) New York, NY -- Binary Domain is the upcoming squad-based third-person shooter game developed by Yakuza Studio and headed by Toshihiro Nagoshi, who created the acclaimed Yakuza series. The game takes place in Tokyo in the year 2080 during a time when robots are about to invade the city as the player has to battle to save humanity. The player controls an international peace-keeping squad in the lower levels of the city as well as the technologically advanced upper levels.
When playing the Binary Domain game, players must make decisions quickly, figure out each each enemyÂ’s weakness, and choose weapons wisely to destroy them. There is a 10 hour single player campaign, but the fun really begins when the game is played online in various multi-player campaigns which supports up to 10 people. Commands can be issued to squadmates via buttons or voice using a headset, and trust plays an important factor in the outcome.
A nice surprise for fans of the Yakuza series is that the main character from that game, Kazuma Kiryu will make an appearance and be a playable character in Binary Domain for the online multi-player campaign, on the governmentÂ’s side fighting for the resistance. The game will be available for both the XBox 360 and PS3 consoles. The official Binary Domain release date is set for February 14, 2012.
