(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 02, 2011 ) BOISE, Idaho- Southwest IdahoÂ’s top restaurants and wineries have started to make preparations for the 3rd Annual Savor Idaho event. Scheduled for June 12, 2011 at the Idaho Botanical Garden this annual event is a celebration of the culinary and viticultural wealth found in the Treasure Valley. Savor Idaho is presented by the Idaho Grape Growers and Wine Producers Commission and also coincides with Idaho Wine Month.
Savor Idaho tickets are available beginning March 1st, for $40 and allow participants to taste their way through IdahoÂ’s best food and wine all in one in one location. Tastings commence at 2 p.m. and run until 6 p.m.
Currently in its third year, Savor Idaho has shown tremendous growth, doubling in size from its first to second years. Last yearÂ’s event had representatives from 30 wineries and 25 restaurants in addition to 17 sponsors and 5 exhibitors. Over 900 people were present to sample a wide range of pairings. This year event planners hope for even greater success.
Travelers from out of town can enjoy a special rate at Hotel 43 in Boise when mentioning Savor Idaho. Additionally Hotel 43 guests can take advantage of a $5 discount on Savor Idaho tickets.
The award-winning wine regions in southern Idaho have a long history of producing wine dating back to the mid 1860s. Currently there are over 40 wineries and over 60 vineyards located in Idaho, primarily in the southwestern region of the state. The area is enjoying historic growth due in part to long growing days, moderate climate, and unique soil.
