(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 09, 2011 ) Las Vegas, NV - Serina ChoiÂ’s desire to help business owners become successful is only rivaled by her commitment to making a difference in the lives of Southern Nevadans. A manager at NV Licensing Services (NLS), a Las Vegas-based business licensing firm, Choi takes an active role in doing her part to improve the community.
When she is not helping clients navigate the complicated liquor and gaming license application process in Clark County, Choi spends much of her free time volunteering. For the past two years she has been a member of the Opportunity Village IT GIRLS, a group of thoughtful and caring women who have come together in Las Vegas in support of people with severe disabilities. The organization was founded in 2007 with a mission of delivering a message to the community that replaces fear with understanding and compassion.
“Our intention is to spread the word that people with severe disabilities are a gift to all,” said Choi, who was elected in 2010 to serve as Membership Chair. “I got involved because OV is a great organization that gets involved in the community and takes a proactive stance on persons with disabilities. It’s about giving back to the community with our time and resources.”
Although Choi enjoys the professional satisfaction of helping a client open a new bar, restaurant, convenience store or gaming establishment, she understands that the real achievement comes from enhancing the quality of life for everyone she comes in contact with.
For Choi, the return on investment for her volunteerism is the gift that keeps on giving.
“It is inspiring to be around such talented clients that are creative and artistic,” she says.
