(Food-Beverage-News.Com, October 20, 2015 ) Sydney, New South Wales -- Australian outdoor lovers always welcome spring, but it can also bring with it an outbreak of pests that have been dormant over the cooler winter months. In addition to the warmer weather, unwelcome guests appear. Spiders begin to weave their webs across front doors, ants start invading the pantry and cockroaches appear on the kitchen floor.
Pestworks Net Australia is a Sydney based pest control company. Its founder Andrew Adler says, "rising temperatures bring with it an onslaught of bee swarms that can cause havoc not only in residential but also in commercial and industrial premises"
Swarming bees is a spring phenomenon. It is part of the reproducing cycle by which the queen bee leaves its hive with an entourage of bees in search of a new site to settle. A bee swarm can contain thousands to tens of thousands of bees and in transit can hang from a tree branch or attach itself to a window sill.
"A pest control expert does not need to be called on the first sighting of a bee swarm" Mr Alder said. "Upon leaving the old hive, and in its early stages the swarm can move quickly from site to site before settling on the most suitable location for building their new hive." He went on to say, "to relocate bees to a more suitable site is important and it should be done where possible, however, once a swarm establishes itself in a difficult place such as a roof space or wall cavity the task to remove the hive intact can be problematic. This is where we get involved to ensure the safety of all concerned"
