Sonoma County Harvest Fair in a celebration of the local harvest featuring three full days of wine tasting and food pairings.
(Food-Beverage-News.Com, September 24, 2015 ) Foley, Alabama -- Sonoma County Harvest Fair's 41st Annual Celebration will be held on October 2 to 3, 2015 at Sonoma County Events Center, Santa Rosa, California. The main objective of the event is to exhibit wines, beers, and Sonoma County's heirloom culinary products. The tasting Pavilion will also be available at the Harvest Fair, featuring cuisines paired with wine, beer and cider.
According to the organizers, there are over 100 Sonoma County wineries will be participating the programs. The attendees will also be given new food pairing each day. The Grand Harvest Tasting ticket allows the visitors to savor the wine and food at the Professional Wine, Food and Restaurant Competitions. There will be guest speakers and food connoisseurs conducting seminars, workshops, and food demonstrations.
The Sonoma County Fair was first conducted in 1936, when local leaders Joseph T. Grace, Ernest Finley, Emil Kraft and V.G. Garrett worked together to establish a race track and exposition center to showcase the wines, beers, and heirloom products of Sonoma County.
The same fair was also celebrated last July 24th to August 9th, 2015. The County Fair Board President Cindy Crane gave her testimonial about the recent celebration.
"Our 2015 Sonoma County Fair has concluded and was truly enjoyed by all. This year the theme ‘Down on the Farm' brought special meaning to Sonoma County's agricultural heritage and was showcased in our amazing flower show, ‘Barnyard Blossoms'. We exceeded all expectations with a record breaking Junior Livestock Auction. This year it grossed over $1.4 million for our agricultural youth, once again showing the strong support of our generous buyers. The Sonoma County Fair promotes and protects local agriculture, along with supporting agricultural education. On the last day of the Fair we broke ground on Saralee & Richard's Barn, a permanent agricultural education center located on the fairgrounds. We achieved this through the dedication and hard work of the Fair Foundation and an outpouring of donations from our community. The Fair Board and the Fair staff worked hard to make sure every fairgoer had a memorable and enjoyable fair experience," says Cindy Crane, the Sonoma County Fair Board President.
