Customers, however, must be aware of how much meat their home freezer can hold. Beef can be stored for as long as 9 to 12 months while ground beef can only last 3 to 4 months.
"As a rule, a cubic foot of freezer space can hold 35 to 40 pounds of cut and wrapped meat," explains Suleman. "But they should allow more space if the cut has some odd shapes."
