These multi-purpose beverage glasses are sold as a set of two and the company states that these glasses are more versatile than they appear.
Patrick Jacobs, Director of Customer Service says that "many people see these smaller double wall glasses as just for drinking espresso or macchiato; it's a pretty limited view. At KitchenReady we feel that these glasses have so much more to offer." Other uses include using them as shot glasses for spirits or for mini desserts. The new mouth-blown artisan glass from KitchenReady is made from borosilicate, a material that is much stronger and more durable than regular everyday glassware, often referred to as ‘soda lime' glasses. Borosilicate is comprised of silica and boron trioxide which provide a greater resistance to heat swings and scratches. Because of its composition, borosilicate glass does not become cloudy over time; the double wall shot glass / espresso glass will look just as clear after a 100 washing cycles as the day it was made.
The double wall construction of the borosilicate glass provides a layer of insulation that normal glassware or ceramic mugs do not provide keeping hot drinks hot, or cold beverages and mini-desserts cold. The glass does not radiate heat or sweat if filled with a cold drink.
