SMA Shares the History of the Famous Martial Arts Centre

(Food-Beverage-News.Com, November 05, 2015 ) Johannesburg -- The information officer Of SMA recently shared the history of the martial arts centre and its founder. He comments, "Shuaimeng Liu was born in Liao Cheng City, Shandong Province, China - not too far south from the capital city of Beijing.

At the tender age of nine years old, his passion for martial arts and his unwavering determination brought him 12 265 kilometres away from his home to the world-renowned Shaolin Buddhist Monastery, located in the South Eastern province of Hunan.

This would set him up for much success later on, as he learned fundamental life lessons, values and skills, which would allow him to develop into the person he is today. For many, just leaving home at that age would be a traumatic experience. Leaving home and travelling that far away from everything familiar and everything comfortable at such a young age may have been exactly what his spirit needed!"

He added, "He learned about life, martial arts and a spiritual world, which few have the opportunity to experience. This is where Shuaimeng developed his unique place in the universe, beginning to hone his natural talent into a masterful set of skills, discipline and ability.

This was where he began to develop his well-rounded nature, love and respect for life and his ability to perform Martial Arts at such an incredible level. See where Shuaimeng ended up next and the fascinating life he continued to lead."

He noted, "The definition of success is different for many people. For Shuaimeng, a structural base of sixteen years of discipline, dedication and devotion enabled him to graduate from the Temple as a 34th generation Buddhist monk under the Abbot Shi Yong Xin. Shuaimeng's monk name is Shi Yan Meng.

He became an advanced martial arts master of Shaolin Wu Shu, under the personal instruction of Master Liang Yiquan, one of the ten most distinguished martial arts instructors in China today.

Having developed the skills he teaches today, right at the source of Martial Arts and Buddhism, he is certainly a force to be reckoned with as a teacher, contender, and as a human being. Developing the skills he now teaches at the source of their origins means Shuaimeng was destined for success in his chosen life path. Next time, we'll tell you all about exactly where it leads him."

Historical records state that he acquired his 5th Grade in Chinese Martial Arts grading, and has qualified as a Martial Arts Coach at national level. As a Shaolin master and martial arts expert, Shuaimeng Liu actively participated in, and won, numerous championships across various national competition levels. From 1995 to 1998, he had won the Chinese Golden Awards and championships at numerous Wu Shu competitions at national, provincial and city levels.

These competition wins earned him a lot of respect amongst his peers and competitors alike, and opened doors for him and his teaching /coaching career. From 1998 to 2003, he was appointed as manager/coach, at provincial and national competitions in China. It seems to be a pattern throughout Shuaimeng's life that he constantly strives for personal development. Next time Shuaimeng goes from strength to strength earning the opportunity of a prestigious teaching position.

The information officer of SMA noted, "His team won group championships twice, acquiring 33 medals in total. In 1997, Liu, along with the Principle of the Shaolin Epo Martial Arts institute.

Mr. Liang Shaocong, were granted the highly prestigious invitation to teach Shaolin-style Wu Shu at Beijing University and Beijing Sports University. It could be said that this is where Shuaimeng honed is ability to teach students and impart the valuable knowledge and skills he had gained over his many years as a student. Clearly Shuaimeng has the knack for coaching and teaching.

His story is evidence of this, and the number of styles of Martial Arts he is capable of will be made ever more clear next time." He explained that Shuaimeng arrival in South Africa was the perfect opportunity to open an authentic Chinese Martial Arts school in Johannesburg. This idea sprang from the lack of such facilities and his passion for the physical and spiritual teachings of Martial Arts.

He felt a great need to spread these teachings to as many people as possible. He decided to offer a variety of classes based upon the traditional teachings he was inculcated with by the Grand Masters of the Shaolin Temple. His insight was correct as his business flourished after starting from scratch though.

He noted, "With no resources and only one student, Shuaimeng Liu established his very first martial arts school, and thus, the Shuaimeng Liu Martial Arts Centre was born. Seven years later and still going strong.

Among other shaolin kung fu training & martial art schools the SMA Centre is the best, it now boasts several coaches, a variety of both traditional and MMA classes, and over 100 students. In his spare time, Shuaimeng Liu enjoys learning Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu as well as Western boxing techniques, practicing the art of calligraphy, and spending quality time with his family."
