CopperMules Offers Big Savings On Moscow Mule Mugs

(Food-Beverage-News.Com, August 24, 2015 ) Scottsdale , Arizona -- "The idea that the copper tinge or taste played into how the cocktail was supposed to taste didn't make sense to me before I got these but now that I've muddled up a few, I get it. The whole thing wouldn't be complete without the "twang" that the copper gives. Love these things." says John Spitzer, a regular at the Fox and Fiddle Pub. In Chicago there is a new must-have drink, the Moscow Mule that is served in a shiny, pleasingly cool copper mug. Mules are easy to spot now in their shiny Moscow Mule mugs and they are becoming more trendy at both bars and restaurants.

Why are Moscow Mules so popular? It might just be the conspicuous copper mug. Legend states that the Moscow Mule came into creation in 1940 when two distributors, one selling Smirnoff vodka and the other selling ginger beer, found themselves holding quite a bit of inventory. They sat down at the Hollywood Cock n' Bull and ended up creating a classic. They took one part vodka, two parts ginger beer, added some lime, mixed every together and threw in some ice. The first Moscow Mule was created and it was awesome.

To market the new drink, a friend with a copper factory, who happened to have many copper mugs laying around, was brought into the "drink." He engraved the mugs with the names of famous celebrates who frequented the Cock n' Bull. The celebrities began drinking the Mules and with the aid of one of the first Polaroid cameras, had their pictures passed around local bars.

In the past couple of years the revival of the Moscow Mule has been particularly strong. Jason Felsenthal of Hubbard Inn says, "Ginger beer is poplar right now and is one of the main ingredients. Also copper companies have started crafting these mugs again, and the new vessels have been embraced."

So what was once a trend is a trend again. The concept of using copper mugs to market the Moscow Mule is alive and well. The copper mugs are a huge part of the Mule. The mug keeps the drink cold, and this ‘easy-to-make drink' goes down smooth and easy.

At the Hubbard Inn, bartenders claim that the crux ingredient is the crushed ice, and at Ada Street Bar, bartender Joseph Sultani uses 42 Below Vodka with Gosling Ginger beer. Whatever brand is used, the Moscow Mule is here to stay.

About Copper Mules

Being huge fans of the Moscow Mule, the Dalton's were getting tired of drinking them from mugs that were nickel-lined, not 100% copper or had been lacquered both inside and out which defeated the purpose of using them.

They decided to get back to the 'roots' of the classic cocktail and make Moscow Mule mugs the way they were meant to be... Solid, sturdy and with exposed copper on the inside of the mug to enhance the experience.

Copper Mules is owned by the Dalton family and is located on the outskirts of Scottsdale, Arizona. The Dalton's are dedicated to bringing the true experience of the Moscow Mule back to the consumer.
