Copper Mules Launches Copper Mugs With Food-Safe Lacquered Exterior Coating

(Food-Beverage-News.Com, August 01, 2015 ) Scottsdale , Arizona -- The resurgent popularity of the Moscow Mule made from lime, Vodka, and ginger beer has drinkers asking, "Is it safe to drink from copper mugs?" The resounding answer is yes.

Copper is easily formed into complex shapes, melts at low temperatures, is catalytic, and copper surfaces have been proven to kill bacteria. Copper is a component of some enzymes in the human body, and ancient Greeks figured out this method of killing pathogens almost 3000 years ago. They stored water in copper jugs and drank from the jug the next morning.

Some copper cups are lined with stainless steel, nickel or tin, but they don't have the same properties as traditional cups. Copper mugs with a tin lining can be safe even at cold or hot temperatures. However, by lining the inside of the mug they may not feel or taste the same as drinking from a pure copper mug.

Pure unlined copper mugs are not often found in local markets. Many sellers do not offer mugs for consumer purchase, only for bar use. However, fans of authentic copper cups can now shop online at places such as Amazon and eBay. Copper mugs have become the 'go to' serving choice for Moscow Mules with the 16 oz. mug being the most sought after size.

Copper Mules has just released their new 16 oz. Moscow Mule copper mugs that are 100% copper with the outside of the mug polished with food-grade lacquer. This prevents the mug from tarnishing on the outside, while having exposed copper on the inside (which is essential to traditionalists).

Copper mugs vary in price with a typical 16-oz. mug costing about $30 - $50. Price variations are caused by different handcrafting methods. Some people prefer a hand hammered copper mug, while others prefer the smooth traditional finish. Regardless, handcrafted copper mugs have become a staple to Moscow Mule drinkers and others preferring ice cold drinks with the health benefits associated to drinking from a copper cup.

Copper Mules is offering their solid copper mugs for $30/set when using coupon code 4SUX8K2N at checkout. Their mugs are 16 oz. in size and have a lacquered outside surface, and raw exposed inside surface. The handles are riveted and in tear drop style. The mugs feature a smoothly rolled top lip.

About Copper Mules

Being huge fans of the Moscow Mule, the Dalton's were getting tired of drinking them from mugs that were nickel-lined, not 100% copper or had been lacquered both inside and out which defeated the purpose of using them.

They decided to get back to the 'roots' of the classic cocktail and make Moscow Mule mugs the way they were meant to be... Solid, sturdy and with exposed copper on the inside of the mug to enhance the experience.

Copper Mules is owned by the Dalton family and is located on the outskirts of Scottsdale, Arizona. The Dalton's are dedicated to bringing the true experience of the Moscow Mule back to the consumer.
