(Food-Beverage-News.Com, May 31, 2015 ) Foley, Alabama -- The 2015 Organic Stone Fruit Jubilee will be celebrated on June 20, 2015 at Mokichi Okada Association's Oasis Garden 5790 N, Indianola Ave, Clovis, CA 93619. The program will start at 5:00 in the afternoon up to 8:00 in the evening. There will be $5 admission for adults and free admission for children 12 years old and below.
The festival is an annual celebration in Central Valley which is hosted by the Ecological Farming Association. The main purpose of the occasion is to promote organic fruits or products, sustainable lifestyle and Non-GMO food choices. The evening includes organic fruit tasting, exhibition of heirloom products and sales of over 60 varieties of peaches, nectarines, plums, pluots and apricots. There will also be live entertainment, children activities, kids craft corner, farm tours for the attendees, food demonstration, Japanese tea ceremony, flower arranging and stone fruit beverages, fruit pie products and artisan treats as well.
People purchase fruit without giving much thought to the variety, Loewen encourages consumers to learn as much as they can about the fruit grown on the area.
"All peaches are not created equal," Lowen says. "There is such an amazing array of fruit produced out here, each with its own unique qualities."
There will also be farmer participants on the event that include Abundant Harvest Organics, Blossom Bluff Orchards, D.E. Boldt Family Farms, Naylor Organics, MOA, Valliwide Organic Farms, Peterson Farms, and Vince's Organics. Food vendors include Dusty Buns, Casa de Tamales, La Boulangerie Bakery, Mattie's Wood-fired Pizza, La Reina Michoacan and Chicken Pie Shop. Victory Gardens is also another organic group in the U.S. that support organic products like heirloom seeds.
The previous celebration reported that about 1,200 people have attended and organizers are expecting an equal number, if not greater, on this year. Last year's celebration featured 15 PRO Organic Farmers with expert life-long organics and natural growers from the "Salad Bowl of America".
