(Food-Beverage-News.Com, May 24, 2015 ) Foley, Alabama -- The 4th year annual Charlotte VegFest was celebrated last Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. up until 7:00 p.m. at Plaza Midwood which is located approximately one mile to the northeast of Charlotte, North Carolina.
The event is a celebration of healthy, organic, and sustainable living. It also promotes vegan and vegetarian cruelty-free lifestyle. The festival is free of admission. It featured different varieties of vegan cuisines, local vendors, vegetable restaurants and food vehicles, live music entertainment, health care providers, nutritional experts and speakers.
The Charlotte VegFest is founded by Marley Claridge and Fiona Humpfrey, owners of Ecolicious, a boutique shop located along the Commonwealth Ave.
"It started very small, in the parking lot behind our business," says Marley. "We had no idea how many people would come. There had been some construction going on and there was essentially a moat around our lot. We had 17 or 18 vendors that first year that did very well. The food vendors sold out of food. About 600 people showed up. The next year we blocked off the road and we had 1500 visitors."
Part of the afternoon activity was a 20 minute demonstration of Tai Chi Exercise at the Peaceful Dragon Booth. It emphasized and demonstrated the centuries-old Asian traditions of compassionate vegetarianism and sustainable organic movement in the spiritual art of Tai Chi. There are entertainers like the Belly Dancers Satarah and the Goddess Posse who performed at the Aerial CLT booth.
The attendees have the privilege to witness the vegan cooking demonstrations, free giveaways, and gift bags. The exact venue is located on the Commonwealth Avenue.
The VegFest Speakers were Ginny Messina, MPH, RD of the "The 7 Habits of Happy, Healthy Vegans", Andrea Gunn of The Human League: "Deep Impact: How to Effectively Help Farm Animals", Victoria Moran of Main Street Vegan, and the Vegan Black Metal Chef. On the other hand, Victory Gardens is also another group in the U.S. that supports organic products like heirloom seeds. These heirloom seeds have different classifications on amazon.
