(Food-Beverage-News.Com, May 24, 2015 ) Foley, Alabama -- Comstock Ferre's Annual Heirloom Festival will be celebrated on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 263 Main Street, Old Wethersfield, CT. The event will be featuring organic food to lectures to yoga.
"In addition to it being fun, I think it will be very educational," Manager of Operations Irina Stoenescu said.
The event will start by 10 a.m. up to 6 p.m. at the seed company's main complex. Admission is free for both the adult and children. The fairgoers are allowed to explore or examine the new gardens.
The main goal of the event is to reach out to the society, promote organic food, healthy and sustainable living through the conservation of heirloom products. It will be featuring heirloom garden, speakers, diverse music, cooking demonstration, health education and entertainment for adults and children.
Organic delicacies will also be exhibited on the event with free samples. There will be local artists who will be performing on the area as well. Event souvenirs will be given to the fairgoers. The featured vendors will also be displaying organic products from soap to herb. Lecture topics from the speakers will be more about Non-GMO products, heirloom gardening and to heirloom cuisine.
"The underlying principal is to show people that you can have great diversity in a very small space," Stoenescu said
Comstock, Ferre was established during the 19th century. The firm is a provider of heirloom seeds which are not genetically modified. Victory Gardens is another organic group in the US that also supports heirlooms. These heirloom seeds have different classification on amazon.
"We want to give this particular event an international feel because we want to use our wide variety of vegetables from all over the world to reach out to different cultures," Stoenescu said.
