Capay Organic Festival last July 13, 2013 . A summer celebration of all things tomato with heirlooms
(Food-Beverage-News.Com, May 10, 2015 ) Foley, Alabama -- On the Saturday of July 18, 2015 from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Capay Tomato Festival is celebrated in Capay Valley, California. It is said that summertime is the best time for growing and producing tomatoes. The tomatoes that will be exhibited on the said event came from heirloom seeds which are free from GMO and are 100% organic.
This annual event is going to be held on a farm. The occasion includes heirloom and cherry tomato food tasting, camping, gardening activities, live music, tractor-tram tour around the farm, and other educational activities. The event supports organic products benefiting the Kathleen Barsotti Non-Profit for Sustainable Agriculture.
For this year, the guests are advised to bring a picnic to be able to enter into the "Best Guest Picnic Contest." There will be a farm staff assigned to roam around to determine the best looking picnic and get a chance to win future fresh produce deliveries. According to the event staff, local purveyors will be providing wares including sandwiches, burritos, roasted corn, pizzas, gelato, organic salads, and other vegan and vegetarian choices.
"I had a great time at the Capay Tomato Festival. There were a couple food trucks, tomato tasting booths, a honey booth, henna booth, and some drink booths. Wish there were more booths to check out, but the people watching, amazing atmosphere, and great music made up for that." stated from a review posted online by Susan L., who is a regular guest from Palo Alto, CA.
On the other hand, Victory Gardens is also another group that promotes heirloom seeds and organic products. These heirloom products are classified in different varieties.
On February 11, 2015 a review about heirloom seeds was posted on amazon by Bander, who is a supporter of heirloom products stated "I received my seed a few days ago and have been so entertained with just looking at the fabulous variety of seeds, and looking at each seed variety on the website. The website has so much information for each individual plant, pictures, history, planting information, etc. I like the fact that these seed can be stored for years in the freezer."
Victory Gardens Shop came from a long line of Gardeners and Farmers. The family inherited the trait of Gardening and promotes 100% Organic, Non-GMO, and Non-Hybrid Seeds.
