(Food-Beverage-News.Com, March 12, 2015 ) Portland, Maine -- Do-Be Products, LLC, the company which offers barbecue-related utensils for sale on the internet, has issued its latest sales report indicating that in spite of brisk sales of grill mats generally on Amazon.com, sales of the Do-Be mat have been slow. The reason for this failure of the Do-Be grill mat to keep pace with the market is not immediately evident to company officials, but may be related to the fact that many competitors offer two, and sometimes even three, mats in a package, whereas the Do-Be grill mat comes in an attractive box containing only a single mat.
The thinking of the company, according to Don Lowry, its President, was that this is a fairly new device which most buyers will be trying for the first time, and for this reason it made sense to offer the single mat so that people could give it a try before any need for a second, or third, mat. Not only that, but the single mat, which measures 15.75 inches by 13 inches, is the right size for many, if not most, grills. Some backyard barbecuers do have a larger grill, on which some folks might want to use two mats, but there is plenty of room on the Do-Be single mat to cook a half-dozen hamburgers or a couple of good-sized steaks or several fillets of fish.
"Our grill mat," said Lowry, "is of excellent quality, perfectly safe, designed to withstand the maximum temperatures which might be encountered on a barbecue grill, and of a thin construction which allows the marks from the grill grates to come through onto the food, something which always adds to the attractiveness of food cooked on a grill. The slick Teflon surface eliminates any sticking which can be an issue when cooking on bare grill grates, and, of course, the mat protects from having chunks of charred food remaining on the grill. In fact using the Do-Be grill mat makes it entirely unnecessary to scrub the grill after cooking, and the mat itself cleans easily with a little soap and water."
According to Lowry the company is taking every opportunity to educate prospective buyers about the advantages of using a grill mat for outdoor cooking and is in high hopes of seeing sales of the Do-Be mat take off in the near future.
