New Product Creates Easy Grill Cleanup

(Food-Beverage-News.Com, November 04, 2014 ) Portland, Maine -- A new grill mat is the backyard chef's new friend, leaving the grill nice and clean without any scrubbing.

The millions of folks who enjoy outdoor cooking face a problem when it comes to leaving the grill ready for the next backyard feast. When the last burger has been placed on a bun what remains on the grill is usually a gunky mess which is not what a person wants to see when starting up the grill for the next day's barbeque.

The mess that is left behind after a round of outdoor cooking is unsightly to say the least. Not only that, but that grimy, greasy gunk is a potential home for a bloom of bacteria which is a potential threat to health.

There is a new product now on the market which eliminates the problem of barbecue residue, leaving the grill just as clean as it was before the grilling got started and has the added benefit of letting the food slide off the grill with no sticking to the grates. It's the Teflon® coated grill mat.

This new development in the field of barbecue grilling is going to make a major change in the way that people do their outdoor cooking. Keeping a grill brush on hand will no longer be necessary. Having food stick to the grill will be a thing of the past. Bits of food will no longer be falling between the grill grates. Grease won't be spilling onto the fire causing dangerous flame-ups. Use of one of these mats makes barbecue grilling a lot more pleasurable.

Grill mats come in various sizes, typically about 16 inches by 13 inches, plenty of room for half a dozen hamburgers, or two good-size steaks, but can easily be cut to any desired size by the simple device of cutting with scissors. The mats are made of a fiber glass or silicone core with the Teflon® coating which provides a coefficient of friction better than almost any substance known to man with the result that the food, no matter how gooey or sticky, just slides right off. Another big advantage of this slippery property is that the mat is easily cleaned after cooling down. The grease and crust which may be left on the mat after cooking will wash right off under a stream of hot water with the help of a little soap. After being cleaned and dried the mat can be rolled up to fit nicely into a drawer or kitchen cabinet.

The Do-Be grill mat is available on Amazon.com.
