New Design Silicon Replaces Smashed Up Plastic!

How to use the Silicone Ice Cube Trays

(Food-Beverage-News.Com, October 24, 2013 ) Boston, Massachusetts -- Friday Feeling. Its great to be finished a hard working week, finally putting the feet up, sit back and look forward to a well earned weekend all for ones self or spend that precious time with, family and friends. Maybe that time is spent at a favorite hobby, sports or just chilling out reading a book or watching TV. At any stage time out is great, having one of your favorite soft drinks, high energy drinks, water, maybe it's a fruit juice, a glass of milk or your favorite tipple Scotch or Irish whiskey. All of these drinks are great in their own right but what really breathes huge life into these drinks is the sound of the clunk clink of simple ice cubes moving around chilling the liquid.

Smashed Kitchen Past Tense. People running in and out of their kitchen grabbing there favorite drink, pouring it into the glass, opening the freezer door unit to get out the old plastic ice cube tray, fighting to get the ice cubes out, and getting the correct amount of cubes for the drink is hard work.

Padraig Watters owner of Rocmarshal commented "when removing old hard plastic trays out from the freezer hands almost suffer frost bite as the plastic is so cold hands almost stick to them, secondly having to hit the ice cube plastic tray off kitchen worktops to get the cubes out and as usual after hitting it hard all the ice cubes fall out at the same time, flying all over the kitchen at high speed messing up the place and sliding over the kitchen floor, its funny running after them". Padraig also adds "this drives people mad and after years of doing this lovely kitchen worktops can get damaged and not look as pretty as they once did, seeing these plastic trays all cracked from hitting them trying to get the ice cubes out then refilling the plastic tray liquid contents tend to seep out from the cracks and then freeze solid in freezer compartments which is a nightmare to clean and plastic trays also pick up odors from the freezer and cause the ice cubes not to have a nice taste when melted into drinks".

Silicone has become the new kitchen material in the last number of years. This change to silicone from non-stick coatings, plastic and other materials was made for several good reasons. In Ice Cube Tray, silicone is being used because, while it's flexible like rubber, it lasts longer and stands up to extreme temperature, much better than plastic trays with unpleasant chemicals being found in some plastics lately. Simply being able to click out one cube at a time is fantastic. It works perfectly—push underneath and the cube pops up, straight into the glass. It's a great idea that needs no refining. The cubes pop out neatly and perfectly formed.

Food Waste A Big Disgrace. Padraig points out that "Rocmarshal trays can stack neatly on top of each other saving space in the freezer compartment and with a new designed spill proof edge there is no more frozen mess to clean up and they have added a new hand grip easy to transport in and out of the freezer without your hand sticking to the tray having vibrant colors and being soft and flexible they will last a lifetime with careful use reducing plastic waste".

Ferdia Murphy marketing spokesman at Rocmarshal says "silicone is very easy to clean, Dishwasher safe and can be heated to high temperatures which is great when it comes to making up homemade healthy babies food puree, just fill puree into silicone molds, freeze them, reheat when you need them, just pop out the correct number of puree cubes and heat up in the pan or microwave". Ferdia states that "Silicone molds are great for reducing food waste and saving on the average household total food budget, great for molding homemade chocolate or fudge candy treats and silicone is not prone to staining and absorbing odors, tastes and colors of liquids like plastics do".
So Ice Cube Molds made from 100% platinum food grade Silicone and which are BPA and Phthalate free, FDA approved, are safe, simple, effective and inexpensive.
