(Food-Beverage-News.Com, August 31, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA -- While it certainly may not be an easy task, Lindley Venue Catering was awarded the catering contract for Watford FC Vicarage Road and their ground that holds up to 19,900 hungry fans during primetime matchups.
The deal is worth a cool £5.6 million, and will last for the next four years, after which the ground owners will reassess their performance and may award an extension if decided.
Scott Duxbury, Watford FC’s CEO, according to FCBusines.co.uk, says,
“We have been looking at all aspects of the club and felt that catering and hospitality was an area where we could benefit from the expertise and experience of a specialist. I’ve worked with contract caterers in the past, so I knew what I was looking for – a business with a fresh approach and new ideas, one which could really engage with us and help us to make a major change in terms of enhancing the match-day experience and proactively bringing non-match day business to the Club.”
The catering company now chosen is believed to be in close relation with the new management of Watford FC, including the CEO. According to sources, the management has full confidence in Lindley’s abilities to deliver and perform with ease and will eventually allow the club to grow in each and every aspect.
Lindley Venue Catering will serve a number of services whether the fan outcome is large or small and is set to meet all needs of the spectators. Volume will be the main focus of all of their hospitality functions as the worst possible thing during a match would be shortage of food for the hungry fans.
The newly appointed catering service will also perform marketing and sales functions.
