Memphis Union Mission has been changing lives since 1945. The organization strives to reemerge these individuals as self-sufficient members of the community. The mission states, “Our goal is to encourage responsibility and address our guests' needs without becoming enablers.”
Memphis Union Mission offers specific programs from men and women and also family programs. The organization also offers emergency services for those in need. These services include the following:

Some services are provided on a regular basis. For instance, through a partnership with the Tennessee Technology Center’s barbering program, free haircuts are provided to anyone in need each Wednesday morning. The Mission has seen some of its own clients obtain stylist degrees after experiencing this service at the Mission.
In addition to the usual always needed donations and volunteers to help run the mission, if you would like to assist in a meaningful way in a specific individual’s life, the Mission has a wonderful opportunity for men’s Bible study or Sunday School groups to reach out and mentor other men through the Mission’s Serve and Connect Program. This program enables Mission Clients who are graduating from the Recovery and Discipleship program to develop critically needed friendships and provide encouragement as they transition into the community and continue their full-time employment.
