While grilling competitions and barbecue state championships are being held non-stop in the United States, it is the first time in history that a Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS)-sanctioned barbecue competition has the United States Army involved. This month, the Bliss, Brews and Que event will take place in one of the biggest military installations in the country – in Fort Bliss, Texas.
The historic 2-day event will feature the Texas Barbecue State Championship where professional cooking teams will compete for over $11,000 in prize money. Backyard barbecue competitions will also take place at the event.
Aside from delicious barbecue, Bliss Brews and Que will also feature good brews sponsored by the best local breweries and fun activities for children including a kids climbing wall, jumping castles, princess makeovers and face painting. Attendees can also enjoy some great live musical performances by the best local blues acts such as the Chris Baker Band, Main Street and the Crooks.
Since Bliss, Brews and Que is making history in the food industry, plenty of brands have expressed their support for the event. For one, cooking and grilling accessories giant Kuisiware announced today that they will hold a limited time sale on their barbecue grill light in honor of the said event.
