(Food-Beverage-News.Com, June 03, 2013 ) Luton, Bedfordshire -- Mighty Merlin may sound like a well known Wizard from King Arthur's Camelot, but it also happens to be the name of a new British company which is supplying health supplements in the USA.
Their very first product, which they have just launched through Amazon.com, is Raspberry Ketones; an aromatic extract taken from raspberries that dieters in the USA are already using in their droves to suppress appetite and burn calories faster.
Raspberry Ketones where first brought to the attention of the American public in 2012, when popular television doctor, Mehmet Oz, talked about them on his show.
‘Like most supplements, there has been very little research done on Raspberry Ketones,' explained Mighty Merlin CEO, Paul Gallimore. ‘They are essentially just a food extract, so they fall outside of the FDA's remit. However, that doesn't mean they are not effective: they are. Dr. Oz was right and there is a lot of anecdotal evidence to back up the claims.'
Part of Mighty Merlin's mission statement is to educate and inform the public about which vitamin, mineral and herbal supplements can make a difference and help us to maintain our health.
‘We have the internet, so all the information is out there somewhere,' Gallimore told us, ‘but so much of what you read is regurgitated, inaccurate and just plain untrue. We want to do our bit to gather useful information into one place and at the very least make it available to our customers.'
The company plans to not only supply supplements that are in demand, but also pass on useful information and tips to everybody who buys from them. They aim to use their website to build an archive of information on nutritional advice and to file weekly reports concerning the latest research and findings.
‘In time we aim to be something of a beacon,' Gallimore stated, ‘a place where people can go to get accurate information about supplements and the like. That is not an easy thing to achieve, because accurate information simply doesn't exist for many supplements. We are not a big research organisation, so we will never be able to produce hard evidence, but we have plans to continuously poll visitors to our website to see what works for them and make that feedback available to all.'
